Holiday Chili Party

Picture
Every year Friendship Fellowship throws a holiday party with donations
going to Children’s Home Society (CHS). This year instead of providing
gift cards, we will be providing cash/checks due to some past difficulties
with gift cards being hacked along with the strongest assurance that
every dollar donated will go directly to the children. Last year CHS
began utilizing the gift cards to purchase fun/educational toys, quality
practical clothing as well as items needed for infants like diapers,
formula etc. CHS then hosted a Holiday event in early December when
parents came in to select items for their children. CHS is reimagining
the future of foster care, creating a world where the children are safer
– where they don’t enter foster care in the first place.

We are having the event a month earlier so that that all funds will be
collected including any other charitable donations received
throughout November. Our Treasurer will then issue a check/s paid
directly to CHS/Early HeadStart of Brevard which will be given to CHS
by the first week of December so that they will have time to purchase
and distribute the gifts.

More details to come from the Events Committee which is graciously hosting this important fundraiser for CHS. There will be CHILI FOR EVERYBODY: New Mexico Chili, Atlanta Chili, Vegetarian Chili, Chili with beans, Chili without beans, Cornbread, Slaw, Drinkables, Desserts… Excellent conversation with UU friends and still more!

In the words of our beloved Kathy Lees: “More? Yes, you’ll have the satisfaction of helping children who, without your help, might have a pretty shabby holiday” – because this party is our largest charity fundraiser of the year. Please be as generous as you are able.

Your ticket at the door are donations which can be given as:
a) Cash collected at the event
b) Check made out to UU Friendship Fellowship/note for CHS
c) Online donation thru UUFF website for monthly charity-CHS

Come to your Holiday Chili Party! Have a great time! And you’ll know that you are also helping children in need to enjoy a BETTER HOLIDAY!
