Social Justice Committee
The primary work of the Social Action Committee is to guide FFP's participation in social and political justice activities. The committee:
Donations for the Sharing Center: The committee collects and delivers food to the Brevard Sharing Center. Please leave nonperishable food items in the rattan box in the church vestibule the first Sunday of each month.
Monthly Community Collection (for Helping Organizations): On the second Sunday of each month, a special collection is taken during Sunday Services to support an organization or agency that helps to meet the needs of those within our community. Our monthly donations will go to the following groups.

The Space Coast Progressive Alliance is a grassroots organization of concerned citizens who strive for domestic and international policies beneficial to the well-being and self-determination of Americans and all peoples of the world, for protection of civil and personal liberties, and for progressive environmental, economic, labor, health care, social welfare, education, foreign, and defense policies.
Cookie Swap: At the December 15 Cookie Swap, we decorated two holiday trees which we delivered to the South Brevard Sharing Center in Melbourne.
- Educates the congregation in areas of national, state, and local social and political concern;
- Participates in "giving" programs to rectify social injustices;
- Sponsors and supports groups organized to deal with social problems;
- Provides opportunities for members and guests to participate in social service and environmental projects;
- Partners with other UUs and churches to act against social and political injustice; and
- Gains consensus on and publishes statements locally that represent the congregation's stance on social and political issues.
